Oral Chelation With Mega-Chel
By Steven Horne, RH (AHG) & Kimberly Balas, ND

Hardening of the arteries is a precursor to cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in the United States.

Doctors who practice intravenous chelation are hard to come by, but there is an even less expensive and easy-to-obtain alternative—oral chelation.
Oral chelation uses natural, nutritional products in the home without having to step into a doctor’s office. Oral chelation is gentler and slower acting than intravenous chelation, creating less dramatic results at the outset, but over the long run can be just as effective. So, unless there is a life threatening need (which should be handled by clinical health care providers, anyway), oral chelation is a wonderful option for those who wish to improve their cardiovascular health.

Properly administered, oral chelation is noninvasive, quite effective, relatively inexpensive and very safe.

If you decide to use the program below, please call us as we might have to adjust quantities for you based on your age and weight.

Oral chelation is not just for improving circulation.
It can help a wide variety of health problems, including helping to detoxify the body from heavy metals.

Add Minerals

It is very important to start slowly with this program and work up as instructed. Otherwise, symptoms, such as nausea, dizziness, headaches and skin eruptions, may occur. It is also important to taper off as instructed, or fatigue and temporary nutritional deficiencies may result.

How to...
For the first week, take the following with breakfast and dinner (or lunch):
1 tablet of Mega-Chel
1/2 ounce of Mineral Chi Tonic

Each week increase the dosage of Mega-Chel by one tablet.
So, the second week, take 2 tablets of Mega-Chel twice daily, and on the third week take three tablets of Mega-Chel twice daily.
Gradually increase the amount of minerals as well, until you are taking 1 ounce in the morning and 1 ounce at night.

A full dose of Mega-Chel is 4-6 tablets twice daily, depending on body weight.
Persons over 200-225 pounds should probably take the full 6 tablets per day.
People who weigh less than 125-150 pounds may be able to take only 4 tablets twice daily.
Individuals of average height and weight should find 5 tablets two times per day (for a total of 10 per day) sufficient.

When you reach full dose, you will be taking the following with breakfast and dinner (or lunch):
4-6 Mega-Chel Tablets
1 ounce of Mineral Chi Tonic

You will need to stay on this full dose for a minimum of one month for each ten years of your age. Thus, if you are 40 you need to stay on the full dose for at least four months, six months if you are 60, etc. If you have serious problems, you should consider staying on the program for one and a half months for every ten years of your life. That is, six months if you are 40 and nine months if you are 60 and so forth.

It is important to taper off in a similar manner to building up. On the full program you are taking very large doses of certain vitamins and minerals, and the body gets lazy about extracting them from food. Hence, if you quit all at once your body may experience a sudden drop in nutrient levels until it readjusts to absorbing these vitamins and minerals from food.

Taper off by reducing the amount you take by two tablets each week. So, if you were taking 5 tablets twice daily, then take 4 tablets twice daily for a week. The next week drop it to 3 tablets twice daily and so forth until you reach 1 tablet twice daily. After that, you can either discontinue the program entirely, or stay on a maintenance dosewith 1 tablet twice daily.

MegaChel can be taken in place of a Vitamin/Mineral supplement for elderly people concerned about cardiac health. Take 1-2 Tablets twice daily as a maintenance dose.

To rid the body of calcium deposits, take 2 tablets twice daily with hydrangea.
The same dose can be taken with Heavy Metal Detox for heavy metal detoxification.

Combined with Butcher’s broom, MegaChel can also be used to relieve varicose veins.

When using Mega-Chel a multi-vitamin and mineral is not necessary, as the Mega-Chel takes the place of the multi-vitamin.
Many elderly people find that they do better with Mega-Chel as their multi.

As the body removes the plaque from the walls of arteries, the cholesterol level in the blood will temporarily rise. This is normal. The kidneys and liver will remove calcium, cholesterol and other impurities from the body.

About Atherosclerosis - hardening of the arteries

Atherosclerosis—hardening of the arteries—is caused by the arterial walls hardening and thickening from deposits of plaque. This causes a narrowing of the arteries and leads to high blood pressure and the risk of stroke and heart attacks. The plaque is composed of oxidized cholesterol (cholesterol that has combined with unstable oxygen molecules) and mineral depositions.

Over 60 million Americans suffer from some form of heart disease, resulting in over $56 billion a year in medical costs for treatment of these conditions. Heart attacks, alone, are responsible for over 550,000 deaths in the United States every year! Heart bypass surgeries, angioplasties (surgical altering of blood vessels) and cholesterol-lowering drugs are typical medical approaches to this problem.

There is a natural approach that offers a way to deal with atherosclerosis. It can help to prevent heart disease and improve overall health safely, effectively, and at an incredibly reduced cost. This approach is chelation. Pronounced key-LAY-shun, this odd word originally comes from Greek roots. “Chele” means “to claw” or “to bind or grab.” When we talk about chelation therapy, we are talking about ”clawing,” “grabbing” or otherwise binding toxins, heavy metals, metabolic wastes and unhealthy buildup in the circulatory system. This allows these to be taken off the artery walls and out of the tissues so they can be flushed from the body.

Intravenous chelation therapy with EDTA (a synthetic amino acid that binds up or “chelates” heavy metals), has been shown to be safe and effective in reversing atherosclerosis, preventing heart attacks and strokes and improving circulation and overall health, and can be used as an alternative to bypass surgery and angioplasty. It takes a series of visits to a medical doctor (MD), or licensed naturopathic medical doctor (NMD), who practices chelation therapy to accomplish these results.

If there are indications that these organs are weak it may be necessary to give them extra support as follows:

For persons with kidney weakness (history of symptoms like arthritis, chronic back pain, urinary infections, etc.) take 2 KB-C with each meal, or put one-half teaspoon each of Lymphatic Drainage and Kidney Drainage into a quart of water and sip this throughout the day.

For persons with liver weakness (history of high cholesterol, skin problems, digestive upset, etc.) take one heaping spoon of or Nature's Three in a large glass of water or juice upon arising and before retiring. Also take 2 Chinese Liver Balance with each meal.

You may also wish to add some of the following supplements for special problems. These are suggested full doses.
You can work up gradually on taking these supplements as well.

For heart problems take 2 HS II or 2 hawthorn berries with each meal. Also take 1-2 capsules of Co-Q10 daily.

For senility, Alzheimer's or other problems with memory use Mind-Max as directed on the bottle.

For high blood pressure consider Solstic Cardio daily or consider taking 1 Blood Pressurex three times daily.
