Urinary System Issues
See Also Part 2: Urinary Tract Infection UTI

1. High blood pressure, diabetes or a family history of kidney failure put one in three Americans at an increased risk of developing kidney disease. But even if you don’t fit in any of those risk categories, it’s important to take care of these critically important organs. Cleveland Clinic

2. Dehydration is the greatest threat to the process of blood purification and the most common source of stress on the kidneys. Tobacco smoking (which impairs blood flow to all organs), high blood pressure, excessive consumption of alcohol, caffeine, and other stimulant drugs; uncontrolled high blood sugar, and a high protein diet also can damage the kidneys. The metabolism of protein, especially large quantities of dense animal protein, greatly increases their workload.
Dr. Andrew Weil M.D.

For Proper Kidney/Bladder Maintenance

Urinary Maintenance
For kidney and bladder strength and tone.
Reduces inflammation and infection.
Improves circulation in small kidney capillaries and helps repair damaged tissues.
Increases urinary flow to control body/blood fluid balances and pressures.
Improves excretion of uric acid and retention of potassium.

Kidney Weakness & Water Retention

Kidney Weakness
General Indications
Copious, pale urine
Scant urine with fluid retention
Structural imbalances

Potassium may curb elevated blood pressure by contributing to more flexible arteries, and by helping the body get rid of excess sodium.
Sodium promotes fluid retention, which may result in higher blood pressure.
Potassium may bolster bone strength by helping guard against bone loss, and it helps to reduce the risk for kidney stones.

Water Retention
General Indications
Swollen ankles, toes, fingers
Scanty urine - Puffy eyes
Swollen tongue

Kidney support for infection and inflammation.
A natural antiseptic diuretic that helps cleanse and build the urinary system when there is too much water. This includes edema, incontinence and other bladder and kidney inflammation and irritation problems.
Pregnancy is in the list of historical uses. So is bloody urine.

Chronic Kidney Weakness
Indications

Copious, pale urine
Frequent lower back pain
Weak knees and ankles
Brittle bones
Spinal misalignment

Our Suggestion
(In bold would be our first choice)

KB-C is a Chinese formula that corrects this deficiency of water energy. It strengthens the organs associated with water in the body, the kidneys and bladder. In addition it also strengthens the bones. In Chinese medicine, the kidneys help “build the bones.”

and/or Horsetail

Horsetail is a diuretic and astringent that has been used to help control incontinence including bed wetting - it both strengthens the bladder and eliminates water.
It is a good "spring cleaning" detoxification herb.

Irritaded - Inflamed
General Indications
Scant, dark urine
Burning urination
Hot feeling over kidneys
Puffiness / darkness under eyes
Urination produces standing foam
General symptoms of heat

Our Suggestion

  Reduces inflammation and infection.
Improves circulation in small kidney capillaries and helps repair damaged tissues.
Increases urinary flow to control body/blood fluid balances and pressures.
Improves excretion of uric acid and retention of potassium.

It has been used for bronchitis, whooping cough, dysentery, cystitis, incontinence, etc.
Other internal uses include inflammatory stomach and bowel problems, lung irritations, urinary tract infections, swollen joints--and it even increases and enriches mother's milk.

Possible solutions for "Urinary Tract Infection"

Infections of the tissues in the urinary tract usually involve bacteria such as E. coli but may include fungal infections such as Candida albicans.
There may be a sensation of warmth in the small of the back. Recurrent urinary tract infections can scar the lining of the bladder and become a serious health risk.

I. To treat an infection

JP-X
A male urinary system tonic.
This combination is diuretic and antiseptic. It is used to restore weakened sexual function; also scanty or difficult urination, water retention, bladder infections
.

Silver Shield
  • Helps wounds heal in half the time, with half the scar, half the cost, and ten times the benefit!
  • Kills bacteria in the body but protects probiotics!
  • Kills candida without harming the good flora!
  • Changes the way we treat pneumonia, tuberculosis, staph and strep infections!

Echinacea Golden Seal
Powerful natural antibiotic team. An important infection fighting immune system stimulant.
Echinacca is also a natural antibiotic that helps with both viral and bacterial infections. It stimulates the body to build blood cells and antibodies and helps the body to cleanse and strengthen itself.

II. To Prevent An Infection

Cranberry contains a substance that reduces the ability of bacteria to cling to the lining of the urinary tract.
This may reduce the tendency to develop urinary tract infections.
Cranberry also controls the odor of urine from incontinent individuals.

III. If on antibiotics or if used recently

This product is recommended for daily use to maintain a healthy balance of friendly bacteria in the intestinal tract. This is a great daily probiotic for adults and children of all ages, particularly females because it protects against unwanted invaders that cause health concerns, especially in the urinogenital tract.

The kidneys, located near the lower ribs on either side of the spine, look like two bean-shaped organs that regulate the fluid in your body. They also excrete too much acid or alkaline elements and clear the blood of toxins. About 2.5 pints of water are excreted as urine every day. Urine is about 96% water.

The kidneys cannot do their job without a sufficient amount of water, so remember to drink enough water. About 2.4 million nephrons inside the kidneys filter the blood. They help to regulate the sodium/potassium ratio, vital for energy production, etc. All

With such a big job to do, certain nutritional elements are important to keep them healthy so you don't experience the various kinds of pain produced by discontented kidneys such as bladder infections, kidney stones, or pain in the lower back.

The kidneys can be poisoned, clogged, malnourished, ruptured by blows, and overworked until they begin to break down. Blood in the urine is a sign, or could be an infection of the filtering tubules.

The urinary system is a complex and intricate system consisting of the kidneys, urethra, bladder and ureters. A well-functioning urinary system is essential for good health. Although we tend to equate the urinary system simply with elimination, it is actually an amazingly complex filtering system that minute-by-minute determines what to excrete and what to retain in the body. In fact, over 95 percent of the water and most of the nutrients we take in, are reabsorbed.

The kidneys purify 45 gallons of blood every day. Considering that you have 7 to 8 liters of blood in your body, this means that your entire blood volume gets filtered approximately 20 to 25 times each day!

Our kidneys produce enzymes and hormones which interact with other compounds and help us maintain our blood pressure.
They regulate the proper fluid balance in our bodies and help maintain the proper acid and alkali balance. Kidney failure is a life threatening situation.

If the kidneys cannot filter toxins from the blood and move them out of the body, these waste toxins accumulate in the blood and contaminate the entire system.
