Cornsilk is nourishing to the urinary system.
It is a soothing diuretic that reduces inflammation and helps kidney, bladder and prostate dysfunctions including painful urination.
It is claimed to dissolve kidney stones and sediment.
Cornsilk is used in children's bed wetting combinations. By helping the kidneys, Cornsilk is also helpful for regulation of fluids in the body and has been used for high blood pressure and water retention.
It is also used in China for diabetes.
Although Cornsilk is rich in many nutrients such as iron and silicon, its vitamin K content is important to control bleeding such as during childbirth.
