Chills
By Steven Horne, RH (AHG) & Kimberly Balas, ND

Chills are usually associated with an increased internal body temperature during a fever but can also be present in severe blood loss or shock. Mild, chronic feelings of cold, especially in the extremities, is usually caused by poor circulation, or hormonal imbalances, particularly low thyroid.

The hypothalamus regulates the body temperature and opens and closes the "vents" or pores in the skin to help regulate the body temperature.

For chills associated with fever, IF-C is a helpful formula.
Where chills are associated with night sweats sage may be helpful.
Chills associated with fatigue and lowered resistance to disease may benefit from Trigger Immune or licorice root.
Where cold limbs are associated with arteriosclerosis, the oral chelation program is very effective.
