BLUE FLAG
(Iris versicolor and Iris florentina)
Properties: Astringent, diuretic, emetic, expectorant.
Parts Used: Rhizomes and roots.
Historical Uses:
Formerly used to treat dropsy and rheumatism, Blue Flag
has later served to treat coughs, pancreatic
disorders and biliary tract ailments.
Blue Flag has also been employed in cases of constipation associated
with impaired bile secretion. It is also said to have a positive
effect on lymphatics and all body fluids.
Contraindications: None.
Adverse reactions: Avoid excessive consumption.
Dosage: 1 to 20 drops twice per day.
Start with 1 drop twice per day and be sure to drink enough water.
