Boomerang Air Quality Test Kit

List Price: $29.75
Price: $19.95

Each test kit comes with 10 petri dishes, 10 liquid gel containers, and 5 Boomerang Air Quality (English/Spanish) booklets. Each booklet explains Indoor Air Quality, or IAQ, and how to use the test kit to conduct in-home tests for IAQ.

The kit has everything needed to conduct up to 5 indoor air quality tests (1 test before and 1 after x 5 times if needed). Test the air in a room, and see for yourself what is floating around in your home or business.

Test it before and after you use the Boomerang Air Sanitizer, and you'll be amazed at the results. Share your findings with 5 friends!

HOW TO USE THIS TEST KIT

IAQ Lab Experiment

Have you ever wondered if the air is worse in a bathroom or a kitchen? In a library or a locker room? Here's your chance to find out. The air quality test allows you to test the air in your home or place of work and see how the Boomerang Air Sanitizer makes a huge difference in the quality of the air you breathe.

Objectives:

• To understand the necessity to control indoor air pollution in homes and commercial buildings.

• To learn how to properly conduct an IAQ test.

• To compare the air quality in various locations of your home or building.

• To compare the air quality in a room treated with a Boomerang Air Sanitizer with a room without air treatment.

Safety Notes:

To avoid electrical shock or death, never operate the Boomerang Air Sanitizer near water. The air sanitizer must be placed on a dry surface. Once you complete the testing process, dispose of used Petri dishes properly.

Materials Needed.
2 Petri dishes (supplied with test kit)
2 bottles of Easy Gel agar (supplied with test kit)
Tape (preferably electrical tape)
Permanent marker
Boomerang Air Sanitizer

Procedure:

Select a room or area to be tested (for "before and after" testing).

1. Pour the bottle of Easy Gel into the pretreated Petri dish. Be careful not to contaminate your test by:

• Touching the inside of the Easy Gel bottle.

• Touching the inside of the Petri dish base or lid.

• Sneezing or coughing over the test.

2. Gently rock the Petri dish back and forth to ensure even distribution of the Easy Gel.

3. Place the open Petri dish on a countertop or other area, where it can remain undisturbed for one hour.

4. Write the test location on the outside of the Petri dish lid and lay the lid facing down to avoid contamination.

5. After one hour, carefully place the lid on the Petri dish and wrap tape around the edges of the Petri dish to seal the dish from contamination.

6. Place the Petri dishes in a dark, warm place (like a drawer) for four to five days.

7. View your Petri dish and record your results.

8. Plug in the Boomerang unit, turn it on and run it for two days. After 48 hours of continuous use , repeat steps 1-7 above and then compare your results. Properly dispose of the used Petri dishes.

Quality Test

• Red spots indicate bacteria, viruses and other microbial colonies.

• Yeasts and molds are indicated by fuzzy, hair-like growths on the Petri dish. Tests can be conducted concurrently by testing an untreated room and a treated room (after 48 hours of Boomerang use or after seven days, etc.).

This sample shows the growth from the air in an untreated room.

This sample was taken after 48 hours of Boomerang use in the same room.
