BLACK CURRANT OIL
[1810-9] (90)
Essential Fatty Acids High in polyunsaturated fatty acids such as GLA (gamma
linoleic acid).
Each capsule contains 16-18% GLA including alpha-linoleic and linolenic
acids, and linolenic acids.
This is an advantage over evening primrose oil which contains about 72%
LA only half the GLA of black currant oil.
This makes black currant oil an advantage for the part of the population
that does not metabolize LA into GLA effectively. (Age, zinc deficiency,
fried foods, alcohol, high sugar intake and diabetes can inhibit this capability.)
Fatty acids are required for many body functions including regulating temperature,
building nerve sheaths, and producing energy.
Essential fatty acids are used to build prostaglandins which are required
for many other critical bio-chemical processes.
