Belching
By Steven Horne, RH (AHG) & Kimberly Balas, ND

See also Gas and Bloating and Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth

Belching, gas bubbles from the stomach expelled through the esophagus and mouth, usually signals a problem with poor digestion. Enzymes (proactazyme Plus, Food Enzymes, Papaya Mint) and remedies that improve digestive function (Anti-Gas formulas) will be helpful.

When a person belches and a foul, rotten egg odor and taste accompany the belch, this is a sign that proteins are not being properly broken down in the stomach. In fact, they are decaying. A lack of hydrochloric acid (Food Enzymed or PDA) and digestive enzymes causes this problem.
